Meet Our Leaders

Mark Phillips, Pastor

Mark grew up on a farm in Indiana and trusted in Christ when he was 16 years old. He and Jennifer have been married since 1995 and have three children; Hannah, Jacob, and Alyssa. Mark graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana with a degree in Secondary Education. After working in an automotive factory in Kokomo, Indiana for ten years, he felt God calling him to full-time ministry. His family eventually moved to Arlington, Texas where he helped in a church plant as an assistant pastor. He graduated with a Master’s degree in Theology in pastoral ministries and interdisciplinary studies from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2012.

Dan Berkey, Elder

Daniel R. Berkey was born in Colorado Springs Colorado in 1952. Dan and his family lived there for two years of his young life and then moved to Southern California. Most of Daniel’s life was lived in Southern California. After high school he started in the construction industry and has been there ever since. Daniel moved to Quartzsite in 1993. Met and married Bernice his wonderful wife and support. Daniel rededicated his life to Jesus Christ in 1996 at the First Baptist Church of Quartzsite. Daniel has served there since that time. Praise the Lord. Daniel is a General Contractor.

Ron Turnacliff, Deacon

I was born in eastern Montana, we moved to western Montana when I was 6 years old. I worked for the Department of Transportation for 30 years. My wife Lorraine and I got married in May 1966. We had a boy named Randy and a girl named Sue Ellen. We have been a snowbird for 15 years. I rededicated my life to The Lord in 1996. I was asked to be a Deacon in 2007. It is wonderful to be part of God's plan for the First Baptist Church of Quartzsite.
