Fruit of the Spirit

The Fruit of the Holy Spirit shows up in our lives when we allow Him to permeate our mind and body. It is possible to quench His Holy Spirit by allowing our natural fleshly desires to rule our behavior. The FOS group works to practice rejecting the natural fleshly desires by allowing God to lead our speech and our actions. We practice our objective with “boots on the ground” within our church body and in our community. We apply ourselves to this end for the following reasons:

To glorify and worship God through obedience to his Word.

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”---John 4:24 Having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him--- Heb 5:9

To be good stewards of our bodies through proper diet and exercise to be better equipped to serve God.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.---1st Cor. 6: 19, 20.

To set a Godly example for the edification and unity of our church family.

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;---Eph. 4:11,12,13.

To be witnessing disciples to the unsaved in our community.

If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.---1st Pet. 4:11

The Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.----Gal. 5:22
